**Classes must be scheduled across all days and all time block combinations to use space efficiently.

Breaks: A 10 minute break is automatically included for any course that meets 100 minutes or more. Additional 10 minute breaks are included for each 50 minutes of instruction thereafter. (Example: A 3 hour course meets 150 instructional minutes + two 10 minute breaks= 170 minutes, 5:30-8:20p).

Guidelines:

  1. All courses should be distributed as evenly as possible across these times blocks. No department/school should have more than 8% of their courses during any given time.
  2. No department/school shall be allowed to have more than 65% of classes at the peak times (indicated by *).
  3. Departments/schools should try to keep irregularly scheduled courses to a minimum and use conference rooms or alternative space for these classes when possible.

These guidelines are intended to apply to all regular 3 credit hour classes. Other arrangements will have to be made for 4 credit hour, studio, laboratory and similar classes, which do not fit these time blocks. For graduate or other classes that meet for 3 or more hours once per week in the evening should be balanced across the days of the week (Monday-Thursday).
