Course Registration Information

Before You Begin

You can register for classes at any point after your assigned enrollment appointment. Courses are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis, so registering as soon as possible is recommended. You can find open enrollment dates and your enrollment appointment (individual registration date/time) in the Enrollment Dates section of your Student Center.

  1. Go to and log in.
  2. Click Student Service Center on right-hand side.
  3. In the Enrollment Dates section (right-side), click on the Details link to view your date and time.
  4. Click "change term" to view enrollment appointment information for other terms that are available.

Your enrollment appointment is not an appointment with your advisor. Advisor appointments will need to be scheduled separately, ideally prior to your enrollment appointment date.

Clear Holds and Tasks, To-Do List Items

Prior to registration, ensure that all holds have been cleared and all necessary items on your to-do list have been completed (i.e. financial responsibility agreement). If you have holds or to-do's you could be blocked from registering. You can see holds and to-do items in your portal.

  1. Go to and log in.
  2. Scroll down to Account Notifications.
  3. Holds and tasks, to-do items will show under that heading.
  4. Click on each item to view what you need to do to complete each item.

How to Register for Classes

  1. Go to and log in.
  2. Click on Student Service Center on right side.
  3. Use the Search tab to find the classes you want after selecting the appropriate term/semester. Various search options are available.
  4. Click the section for which you want to register by clicking the Select button.
    • If the course has a lab, after you select the lecture, you will be prompted to pick the lab associated with this course.
  5. Review the course details and click Next to add course to your shopping cart.
  6. Click on Shopping Cart link
  7. Click Enroll
  8. Click on Finish Enrolling to complete the registration process.
  9. On the following screen, you will see a green check mark next to each course once you have successfully registered.

Course Permit (Override) Request

If you need a course permit (override) to enroll in a specific course, you can make your request online through The online request form will be under the Academics tab in the Registration section. Your request will be reviewed and you will be informed if the course permit was granted so that you may register for the course.

More Information

  • Some courses have multiple sections offered with different times and locations. If one section does not work for you, another might.
  • If you register for a course and later decide not to take it, you can drop the course or swap the course for another course through Each semester, there is a cutoff date after which you can no longer drop a course and receive a refund. Review the Academic Calendar.
  • Courses for which there are no available seats will not appear when you search for them as long as the Show Open Classes Only box is checked, even though the course might be listed in Course Offerings.
  • You can review course descriptions and plan of study requirements by using the Course Catalog.
  • Once you have registered and instructors and textbooks have been assigned, you can view your textbooks by going to Click on Class Schedule Details, then click on Textbooks and Materials.

  • Search available courses in the directory, by subject or department/school.
  • Get course descriptions, instructors, times, days of the week, locations, and credit hours.

Your Student Center Planner will help you to manage courses you wish to register for:

  • Log in to
  • Click on Student Center at the left.
  • Under the Academics section, select the Plan link.
  • In your planner you will be able to browse the course catalog and add courses to your planner.
  • When it is time for you to register, you can use your planner to assist you in enrolling in your desired courses.
