Summer Session Course Withdrawals

Withdrawal from a Course(s) for Summer 2017

Students may drop a class in one of the following ways:

  • Drop the course online using My.IllinoisState.edu (This option is available February 13th - May 15th when registration is open).
  • Come in person to the Registrar Service Center in 107 Moulton Hall. Photo ID is required. The Registrar Service Center is open Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm
  • Complete the Registration/Withdrawal Form. Requests can be faxed to (309) 438-8652.
  • Mail a letter requesting the course be dropped. The letter must be signed and can be mailed to: Illinois State University, Office of the University Registrar, Campus Box 2202, Normal, IL 61790-2202.

*A week day is defined as Monday-Friday, excluding holidays in which the University is closed. For courses beginning on Saturday, the first day of class is counted as the first week day.

Example 1) You are registered for a three week class that begins on a Monday. The last day to drop the course with no grade and a full adjustment of charges is by close of business that Wednesday of the same week. The last day to drop the course and receive the WX grade and no adjustment of charges is by close of business the following Monday. After that, you are no longer allowed to drop the course and a letter grade will be issued by the instructor.

Example 2) You are registered for a eight week class that begins on a Tuesday, June 17th. The last day to drop the course with no grade a full adjustment of charges is by close of business is the following Tuesday, June 24th. The last day to drop the course and receive the WX grade and no adjustment of charges is by close of business Wednesday, July 2nd. After that, you are no longer allowed to drop the course and a letter grade will be issued by the instructor.
