Academic Load

Your enrollment status is based on how many credit hours you take per semester. We use credit hours to verify your enrollment and for financial aid purposes.

What's considered full-time may differ between enrollment and financial aid. For information regarding your financial aid eligibility, contact the Financial Aid office.

If you want to take more than the maximum credit, speak with your academic advisor. Permission may be given based on your academic record.

Full-time undergraduate students typically enroll in 12-15 credit hours. For enrollment verification, 12 hours is considered full-time; audited (AU) courses do not count. Students may enroll in more than 15 hours, but advisor approval is required to exceed 18 hours per semester (12 in summer) and is based on the student's academic record. First-semester freshmen may not exceed 18 hours. Students planning on taking any courses concurrently or otherwise at another institution need to consult their academic advisor.
