Prep and Learning Module

The ALEKS Prep and Learning Module is a free tool that helps you succeed in your course placement or achieve a better score if you retake the assessment.

Module Assignment

Once you take ALEKS, your results will include a learning pie chart that shows what you've mastered in math and where you need to focus.

ALEKS will choose a module tailored to the questions missed on the exam just completed.

Knowledge Checks

While working in a Prep and Learning Module, you will periodically complete a Knowledge Check to make sure you've mastered the appropriate topics. If you do not show mastery during the Knowledge Check, the topics will be added back into your Learning Pie so you can review them again.

Assessment Retake Requirements

You can retake ALEKS up to four times to improve your score. Each retake requires you to spend time in your Prep and Learning Module before the assessment becomes available again.

Assessment Attempt Prep and Learning Module Time Requirement
Second Attempt 3 hours
Third Attempt 3 hours
Fourth Attempt 5 hours
Fifth Attempt 8 hours

Working in a module does not count toward your overall placement. To improve your placement, you'll need to retake the ALEKS assessment.
