You can dispute your residency classification by writing to the Registrar office. Your request must be filed no later than 30 days after the first class day of the term for which tuition is payable. If you miss the deadline, you will lose the right to change your status and tuition adjustment.
If you were an Illinois resident at the time of admission, your residency will not change if parents move out of state. Residency is reviewed when a new admissions application is submitted.
Complete the Petition for Change of Resident Status.
You must provide documents detailing Illinois residency six months prior to start of term in which you are requesting change.
